• Food Safety Array
In current development for USDA. This array allows for pathogen detection and identification of all common foodborne pathogens with a single test.

• Avian Influenza Example:
The RPM-Flu Kit was used to analyze 22 blinded avian influenza samples provided by the USDA Southeastern Poultry Research Lab. Two of the samples contained no avian influenza, but instead other avian viruses as “spoofs” for the blind testing. All other samples matched to strain level.
The RPM-Flu Kit correctly determined no avian influenza present in these "spoofed" samples, and also correctly identified avian metapneumovirus in one sample, using human metapneumovirus gene segments present on the array.
After unblinding of the sample identities by SEPRL, the identity of the second “spoof” sample was confirmed to be Type I Newcastle Disease Virus by analysis on the TessArae RPM-TEI 1.0 array (TEI – tropical and emergent infections panel, which includes NDV, Rinderpest and FMDV).
