The Power of GeneCipher™ Analysis
TessArae assays are powered by the proprietary GeneCipher data analysis software. This data analysis algorithm eliminates the labor-intensive bioinformatics burden associated with next-gen or Sanger sequencing. GeneCipher was developed by TessArae scientists to automate highly accurate basecalling from Affymetrix® microarrays.
Fast Within minutes of completing the assay, GeneCipher automatically generates a gene-by-gene, mutation-by-mutation list of the results.
Flexible It can detect the presence of known as well as unknown single base mutations or polymorphisms. So long as the unknown SNPs are encoded in the portion of the genes targeted by the assay, GeneCipher will identify them.
Robust Even insertion and deletion mutations are detected. So long as they are known prior to the creation of the assay, Gene Cipher will identify them just as accurately as it identifies single base mutations.
Accurate GeneCipher achieves average base call rates exceeding 99.5% independent of read length, with accuracy exceeding 99.99%. This makes the technology more accurate than Sanger or next-gen sequencing in a single run. (For you sequencing gurus out there, GeneCipher’s accuracy is comparable to a single run Phred score of 40).

In this example, the readout from a targeted locus is shown for two samples with a heterozygous G/T polymorphism (indicated by the letter K) at the middle position in specimen B. The GeneCipher algorithm readily detects the mutation site and identifies the nucleotide change.
Confidence In addition to calling each base, GeneCipher automates the call at each targeted locus (whether wildtype, heterozygous or homozygous) based on sophisticated confidence metrics. Not only is the actual sequence at each locus evaluated for the presence of a mutation, but also the flanking sequence is compared to a database of known wildtype and mutant loci. So, by using several strategies to identify each mutation, GeneCipher gives you the confidence you require.
Evolutionary TessArae scientists are constantly improving the (r)evolutionary GeneCipher algorithm—let us do the hard bioinformatics work so you don’t have to.
It’s all provided by GeneCipher with a single click of a mouse, making genetic disease testing easier and more accurate.
